How a sedation dentistry visit actually runs at 10450 E Riggs Rd
Sedation at our Chandler office is available in two forms: nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") for routine anxiety, and oral conscious sedation for longer or more complex visits. Nitrous wears off in about 5 minutes — you drive yourself home — and we use it freely for kids and adults who want a calmer cleaning, filling, or extraction. Oral sedation (a small dose of a benzodiazepine taken about an hour before the appointment) is deeper: you'll be awake but very relaxed, with little or no memory of the procedure. It requires a driver to and from the office and someone to stay with you for a few hours afterward. We do a brief phone or text consult before any sedated visit to confirm your medical history, current medications, and what to expect — so nothing about the day surprises you. Sedation pairs naturally with longer restorative work (implants, multiple-quadrant fillings, smile makeovers) and with patients who've put off dental care for years and want to consolidate it. Mention "I'd like sedation" at booking and we'll walk through which option fits your case before you commit.
